Introduction to Automotive Spare Parts Packaging Design (Master Box) The 4S Part brand operates in the automotive spare parts sector and required packaging for its products. At the start of this venture, the brand manager decided to develop a master box that could accommodate several different products.

Design Challenge

Since the client aimed to create a single box, the challenge lay in the fact that we couldn’t focus on just one product; we had to design for a broader range of items.

Another challenge was that the client expressed a preference for the color scheme of Caterpillar® Inc., specifically the yellow color. However, we only had access to their logo and no additional guidelines or features for the design.

Project Goals

The process of researching for this packaging design commenced swiftly. We examined competitors’ activities, the colors they utilized, the design elements they incorporated, and all relevant visual and technical factors.

The outcomes of this research are depicted in the accompanying image.

Completion of the Packaging Design Process

After documenting all findings from our research, we decided to utilize the two primary colors, yellow and black, which offer the highest contrast. It was noted that other brands in the market predominantly employed orange and green, presenting an opportunity for our brand to stand out. It’s essential to highlight that differentiation in design and the boldness to change conventional thinking often provide a competitive advantage over merely replicating the successful strategies of other brands. A clear example of this can be observed in the design of pink cream packaging present in the Iranian market, where dairy brands often produce very similar designs.

Lastly, it is vital to emphasize that simplicity and the elimination of unnecessary elements are key fundamentals in effective design.

    واقعا به مدیری که بسته بندی میخواد بزنه اما نمیدونه چه اطلاعاتی باید به مشتری ارائه بده، ضعف بزرگیه تو دنیا مارکتینگ!

    • درود بر شما، در بعضی از محصولات بسته بندی فقط مسئولیت حفاظت از محصول را دارد و نیاز به توضیحات بیشتر نیست شاید این موضوع در این مواقع، منطقی به نظر برسد.
      اما صحبت شما به صورت کلی صحیح است.
